From the source "Poe's final days" it says on his way back to Baltimore, Poe was seen dressed strange and semi conscious. Poe was driven to a hospital into Private room . When he arrived it said he was stupor. Poe dozed off and woke up violently. Poe kept yelling out someones name. He died later to lethal amount of alcohol.
This story has more detail and back up support than the rabies account. it give places, more names and the state of being. It tells the doctors and university names with Poe's actions.
From both accounts I don't remember it saying about Mr.Poe getting bit by an animal. Ive seen many drunk cases. this seems like one.
This story of Poe's death is like religion. No one can agree with one thing. To me this should have been a one account story that everyone agrees with. The alcohol account makes more sense. i wonder if anything from the doctor and the nurses had been written down in a file.
