The story i feel that is most plausible is "Poe's Death is Rewritten as Case of Rabies not telltale Alcohol". The reason is because it has alot of very logical theorys for instance is said that in his later years that he got very sick from a very small amount of alcohol and he very avoided is as much as possible. In this article is said he could of died of rabies because he had almost all of the syptoms like not being able to remember what animal bit him.

Edgar Poe was in the hostpital and he had been very sick. The following day had no reculection that he was even ill Which is a nother syptom of rabies. But then on the fourth day of being in the hopital he died. Most people think of him dieing in the gutter drunk which is false because of the reasoning i explained earlier on. Edgar Poe Dr. Henry Wilde stated "Edgar Poe had all the symptoms of encephalitic rabies" Which is a docter who treats rabies in the Chulalongkorn University Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand.

In my opinion this is the most well explained because of the backup in the reasons of his rabies. I feel that the theory of him dieing in the gutter to be at the most and legend that is false.
